Foil-Tec Double Reflective Insulation & Vapour Control Layer
Foil-Tec Double is an ultra-thin reflective insulation and vapour control layer (VCL) manufactured by YBS. Supplied in convenient 1.5m x 50m rolls, each roll covers up to 75m², making it an ideal solution for a wide range of roofing, wall, and flooring applications.
High Thermal Performance with Minimal Build-Up
At less than 1mm thick, Foil-Tec Double is designed to improve thermal performance without reducing valuable internal space. Its slim profile makes it an excellent choice for projects where maintaining room dimensions is a priority, while still helping to enhance U-values throughout the building envelope.
Foil-Tec Double delivers certified thermal performance with an R-value of 0.98m²K/W in roof applications and 1.48m²K/W in wall applications. Despite its ultra-thin construction, this performance is equivalent to approximately 64mm of mineral wool insulation.
Reflective Vapour Control Layer
As a reflective vapour control layer, Foil-Tec Double helps reduce radiant heat loss while restricting the movement of moisture vapour through the building structure. When installed with Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape, it creates a continuous vapour barrier that helps minimise the risk of condensation and improve overall energy efficiency.

Lightweight and flexible, Foil-Tec Double is simple to install and does not require specialist tools or professional fitting. Unlike some traditional insulation products, it contains no itchy fibres or harmful chemicals, meaning no specialist PPE is required during installation.

Foil-Tec Double is independently certified by BDA Kiwa and accepted for use in a range of building applications. Its certified performance can also support EPC improvements and building regulation compliance.

Is this product accredited?
Yes - Foil-tec can be applied to enhance ‘U’ values in new build or refurbished building project to meet and exceed current building regulations.
Should I install this product vertically or horizontally?
This can be installed either vertically or horizontally - choose the most appropriate direction depending on your wall height.
Do I need to tape this product?
We do advise using our Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape around all of the joints and edges this ensures no passage of moisture.
Can I use this product behind plasterboard?
Yes. This can be installed directly behind plasterboard, stapled to rafters or battens. When this product is fully taped and sealed, FoilTec will act as high performing vapour barrier, eliminating condensation.
