Ultra-Thin Foil-Tec Double Insulation
Foil-Tec Double is a thin insulation material made by YBS. It’s available in rolls that are 1.5m x 50m which cover an area of 75m2.
This material will increase the thermal performance, without losing any space it’s less than 1mm thick. Foil-Tec will enhance the U-values in roofs, walls, and floors.
This reflective foil has a certified R-value in a roof of 0.98m²K/W, and 1.48m²K/W in a wall. This equates to 64mm Mineral Wool despite being less than 1mm thick!
It’s simple to install and you don’t need any professional for the installation process. We recommend fully taping and sealing Foil-Tec Double Lite with Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape. This will ensure the product works as a VCL.
It’s fully certified by BDA Kiwa. Foil-Tec doesn’t contain any itchy fibers or harmful chemicals you don’t need any specific PPE to install it.

How thick is this product?
This product takes up just 1mm of space.
How is this superior to a conventional vapour control layer?
Foil-Tec provides more strength and thermal performance compared to a traditional VCL.
Is this product accredited?
Yes - Foil-tec can be applied to enhance ‘U’ values in new build or refurbished building project to meet and exceed current building regulations.
Should I install this product vertically or horizontally?
This can be installed either vertically or horizontally - choose the most appropriate direction depending on your wall height.
Do I need to tape this product?
We do advise using our Thermaseal Foil Joining Tape around all of the joints and edges this ensures no passage of moisture.
Can I use this product behind plasterboard?
Yes. This can be installed directly behind plasterboard, stapled to rafters or battens. When this product is fully taped and sealed, FoilTec will act as high performing vapour barrier, eliminating condensation.
