Improved BreatherQuilt Insulation – New to 2020. We are pleased to confirm YBS BreatherQuilt has been upgraded to a higher standard. These improvements have been made whilst keeping the sell-out price static.

In the past, when installing YBS BreatherQuilt there was a requirement to use Thermaseal Double Sided Tape. This was to join the layers together on the horizontal overlaps. New to 2020, BreatherQuilt now includes built-in double-sided tape. This results in a faster installation and also saves on additional extras.

BreatherQuilt is made up of 11 layers, all of which are perforated. The external 11th layer is a breathable felt. This external outer felt has improved its outer weight to 125 grams, a 10% increase. This results in improved tear-resistance and durability.

Where to use BreatherQuilt?

BreatherQuilt is a multi-layered blanket for use Over Rafter on Pitched Roofs. It includes a built-in breather membrane, therefore there is no requirement for an additional felt.

BreatherQuilt is 40mm at a relaxed thickness, and will compress to 7mm.

Once BreatherQuilt has been installed, commonly a single tile batten will be installed. This is before proceeding with slates/tiles.

A counter batten can be also used before proceeding with a tile batten. This is dependent on the depth of the cavity below BreatherQuilt.
